He is a chopper and is well-versed in long pips, medium pips, and smooth rubber, making him the ideal partner for players looking to adapt to diverse and challenging playing styles.

Arik Chan – Table Tennis Coach
Arik brings a unique perspective to table tennis coaching – he’s been on both sides of the playing style transition.
Originally a shake-hand grip player, he made the switch to penhold and now uses the Reverse Penhold Backhand (RPB) technique, playing with a combination of long pips and smooth rubber. This journey gives him deep insight into the challenges and rewards of changing playing styles.
Whether you’re a complete beginner picking up a paddle for the first time or an experienced player looking to overhaul your game, Arik understands the adjustments – technical, tactical, and mental – required to make the switch successfully.
