# Fishing in Belitung: Beautiful Waters, Small Catches, and Great Makan
I just came back from Belitung two weeks ago.
Beautiful waters. Great weather. Good company.
And I caught nothing except small ones.
Yes. You read that right. I went fishing in one of the most beautiful places on earth. And the fish were not interested in me.
But you know what? I still had a great time.

## The Honest Truth About Fishing in Belitung
Belitung waters are clean. The coral reefs are healthy. The fish are plenty.
But fish do not always cooperate.
Some days you catch big ones. Some days you catch small ones. Some days you catch nothing at all.
That is fishing. And that is why I love it.

## What I Did Catch
Small ones. Lots of them.
Nothing to brag about. Nothing to post on Instagram. But every single one made me smile.
Because being on the water, with the sun on your face, the sea breeze in your hair, and a line in the water — that is already a win.

Even if you catch nothing, Belitung gives you:
- White sand beaches
- Giant granite boulders
- Crystal clear water
- Fresh seafood (even if you did not catch it)
- Sunrise and sunset views that make you forget your phone

- Different spots – Tanjung Tinggi, Tanjung Kelayang, or Sungai Padang
- Local guides – They know where the fish hide
- Good bait – Fresh squid or shrimp, not just whatever I had
And even if I catch nothing again?
Still worth it.

The best part of fishing in Belitung? You can buy fresh fish directly from the fishermen at the beach.
